Let's be real, no one actually knows how to do their taxes. That's not really a problem these days, thanks to all of the nifty software at our fingertips that does the job for us. But did you know that now, in this, the year 2017, it's easier than ever to do your taxes from your phone, too? Yes, it is certainly an exciting time to be alive. If you've been procrastinating like me, here are a few choice apps to help you get your taxes done before that looming April deadline. 
The IRS does indeed have their own app, which does a top-knotch job at translating inscrutable tax-form verbiage into language everyone can understand. It also let's you check up on your refund, so you know when that sweet, free money is in-coming. 

The tax gurus at H&R Block created this gem that lets you file your taxes completely free, and you can even import past returns from any tax app for reference. 

TaxAct Express lets you upload your W-2 forms using photos, and you can send your federal taxes for free. It's a lightweight app that can handle any situation, whether your taxes are relatively simple or more complex. 

This app is a boon for folks living the freelance lifestyle. Tracking expenses on your own can be a a real nightmare, but this QuickBooks app does an excellent job of healing that particular headache. 

TurboTax is essentially a household name at this point, and their mobile app measures up quite well to their PC offerings. It's one of the few apps that lets you file your federal and state taxes free, which is always a plus in my book.
