It has been a long time coming, but it is finally time for a bit of boy-band-based bashing as the Technocyte Coda arrives in Warframe. This follow-up to 1999, dubbed Techrot Encore, leans into the game's musical mastery, with these new bosses and the release of Temple, the 60th Warframe.

It's hard to know which to start with, as both are big headlines, but let's start with Temple. Wielding a guitar as their signature weapon, the self-aware Lizzie, Temple can melt their enemy's faces off with a heavy riff that causes pillars of Heat Damage to erupt with the Pyrotechnics skill.

They can also use their musical prowess for defence, as Ripper’s Wail belts out a solo that makes Temple invulnerable whilst healing them. Finally, you can use the Exalted Solo ultimate to turn Lizzie into a flamethrower and burn through enemies. Pair this with Riot-848, Temple’s signature pistol, that can recall bullets to its mag, and you have a fearsome Warframe.

And you will need fearsome, as it is time to take on the Technocyte Coda. The latest addition to Warframe’s Adversary System will have you go against hit-fictional boyband OnLyne in their corrupted, virus-infested forms. Take them down, and you will be able to collect up to 13 Coda weapons, and a host of thematic cosmetics.

This update brings with it four new Protoframes, but none of them are Ash so I don’t really want to talk about them. I suppose I should though. Flare, Minerva, Velimir, and Kaya join the team, representing Temple, Saryn, Frost, and Nova respectively. You can bond with them using the K.I.M system, and of course, use them as fully voiced Gemini Skins.

After bonding with Flare a bit, you can help them put on a show as you defend them in the new Stage Defense mission. Or, dive into Warframe’s toughest challenge with the latest version of Temporal Archimedea. To help you out you can tool up with four new Scaldra weapons, including Dual Viciss sickles and the Purgator 1 grenade launcher.

If you feel the need to cool down a bit then check out the Atomicycle drifting skills with Ollie’s Crash Course. This minigame is the latest of Digital Extemre's partnership with the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Techrot Encore also packs a few quality-of-life improvements, such as simplified Archwing crafting and a reduced number of waves in defence missions.

Those with a good ear might notice an original track playing during the Stage Defense mission. Lamenting the Days comes as a collaboration between Jake Bowen and Mark Holcomb of Periphery fame, with vocalist Elliot Coleman from Good Tiger. Warframe has a history of good music, with tickets for TennoConcert still available if you want to experience it in person.

Warframe is available to download from the App Store now.
