[Having a bit of trouble getting the hang of UNWYND's puzzles? Check out our player's guide.]

UNWYND is a little confusing at first, with a tutorial that solves things for you without necessarily explaining what’s going on. The more you play though, the more you realize it’s actually quite fun to master.

Each level offers you a series of colored blocks. You have to paint these colored blocks with O or X symbols, according to the requirement of each stage. This is done by pulling in ribbons that mark the block. Drag from a red block, for instance, and you have a red ribbon, covering everything in that line. All the red blocks in that line turn to an O symbol, while any other color turns to an X.

The trick then is to get all the right symbols. It sounds a little messy because it kind of is. Often, you have to make multiple moves to create this desired effect and something in the back of your head expects brevity to be rewarded. This isn’t the case. Bits of ribbon is a much better tactic, even if it doesn’t look as good.

There are multiple solutions available for each puzzle, so UNWYND ends up quite relaxing. Without the stress of timer or stars to aim for, it’s fun to decipher things. Just don’t expect it to make sense immediately. It really doesn’t.
