How to collect every hidden character in Disney Crossy Road

There are a ton of characters to unlock in Disney Crossy Road, and they're all based on your favourite Disney IPs funnily enough.
There's old favourites from Toy Story, The Lion King, and Mickey Mouse as well as (relatively) new characters from Zootropolis, Big Hero 6, and Tangled. Something here for everyone, basically.
You can unlock these characters either with a gacha mechanic (using credits earned while playing to unlock a random character) or by buying them outright as an IAP. It's pretty standard stuff.
However, you may not be aware that there are a bunch of hidden characters that you can only unlock if you fulfil a certain criteria.
What criteria?! You cry out. Well, calm down as that's what this guide's all about. Read on to find out how to unlock every single hidden character in Disney Crossy Road. Character sets
Most Disney Crossy Road secret characters are unlocked by collecting a bunch of characters as a set. The problem is, it's not really clear which characters make up that set.
You can make an educated guess though, and that's what we've done. Check out our possible rundown below.
GideonThis Zootopia character is unlocked when you gather up Manchas and Mr Otterton, which we believe make up the Top of the Food Chain set.
The Hippo from The Lion King is yours to own if you gather up Simba, Nala, Rafiki, and Zazu as part of the Humble Beginnings set. Maybe.
Complete the Toy Story 1 set (which likely includes Buzz, Woody, Bo Peep, Slinky, and Rex) to grab Lenny.
The Brain Maintenance set should include Dave, Paula, Brain Worker, and Bing Bong. Collect it to get Inside Out's Bobby.
Want Fred from Big Hero 6? Then get your hands on Hiro Hamada, Baymax, Go Go Tomagi, Wasabi, and Honey Lemon to complete the Best Friends set. Possibly.
GusHaunted Mansion's Gus is yours if you complete the Spooky Spirits set. That likely involves gathering Phineas Plump, Madame Leota, and Executioner.
Unlock Dale and Gargoyle to (probably) complete the Crazy Critters set and get your grubby little mitts on Chip.
Complete the Tangled Heroes set (likely Stabbington Brother 1 and 2) and you'll get Rapunzel Braided. Woop!
The Masters of Disguise set likely includes Armor. Gather that and you'll get Elephant Finnick. N'awww.
Complete the Big and Tall set (which possibly includes Jerry Jumbeaux Jr.) and you'll get Giraffe.
Feels Good to be Bad. No, I'm not just speaking at random, that's the name of the set you need to complete to get Mother Gothel. It probably includes Stabbington Brother 1 and 2.
Mayor Lionheart is an honourable man, so it makes sense that he's included in the Honorable Men set. Gather them all to unlock Tangled's The King.
Complete the Citizens of Niceland set to grab Deanna from Wreck-It-Ralph. That's probably Ralph, Felix, Gene, and Mary.
Complete the Feeling Emotional set which probably includes Joy, Anger, Sadness, Disgust, and Fear to get Fritz from Inside Out.
Mickey, Polka Dot Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto are pretty fab, so it makes sense that they're the Fab 5, right? Well, that's what you need to complete to get Dale.
Complete the aptly-named Super Suit set to get Fred Super Suit from Big Hero 6. That's likely Hiro Super suit, Gogo Super Suit, Wasabi Super Suit, and Honey Lemon Super Suit.
The Cat Lady is unlocked by completing the Leading Ladies set, which is probably Judy Hopps, Rapunzel, and Joy from Haunted Mansion.
Rancis Fluggerbutter (which is the best name ever) is unlocked when you complete the Citizens of Sugar Rush set. That likely includes Princess Vanellope, King Candy, Taffyta Muttonfudge (runner-up best name ever), and Candlehead.
Complete the Top Dogs set (which probably includes The King) to unlock Big Hero 6's Alistair Krei.
Complete the Toy Story 2 set to unlock The Prospector. That probably includes Emperor Zurg, Wheezy, Babyhead, and Janey Doll.
Complete the Short and Stout set to unlock Don. Mr Big is probably one of those, right?
While you're hopping about, you may notice some random items lying on the ground that you can collect. These aren't credits! You exclaim.
No, they're not. They're collectable objects that you can only gather with a certain character, and doing so will unlock a secret character.
You can unlock Jessie from Toy Story by collecting 50 cherries as Bullseye, and Warthog and Captain of the Guard from Tangled by gathering 50 cakes as Attilla and 50 apples as Maximus respectively.
As a side-note, you don't need to collect these items in a single run, so just keep playing that character and collecting the items until you get the unlock.
MortimerMortimer is the easiest secret character to unlock. All you have to do is play as Mickey Mouse and get crossing those roads. At some point, you'll pass Mortimer in a field and you'll have unlocked him as a character as soon as you die. Poor Mickey.
