Last year, Ateam released Unison League, a JRPG in which you fight as part of a co-operative guild. You’re tasked with saving the land of Granvia from destruction – easier said than done when monsters lurk around every corner. You build your own hero, kit them out with whatever weapons you pick up along the way, and take part in real-time battles alongside other players.

Veteran Unison League players will probably have fought their way through all the main plot quests by now, so there’s definitely an appetite for some fresh content. And that’s exactly what Ateam has delivered. But with a twist.

The update is a collaboration with Evangelion, the hugely popular Japanese anime franchise. The new content includes an original plot that will develop over two weeks, each chapter promising players unique items to unlock.

Those items include a ton of new cosmetics for you to customise your character with. Fight baddies dressed up as Evangelion characters Shinji, Rei and Asuka - or the famous mechas Unit 01 and 02.

There’s also a heap of new attack animations to enjoy, as well as a log-in bonus – Rei Ayanami in a racy speed queen outfit.

If you’re a fan of anime and a fan of RPGs, Unison League’s latest additions may well be the perfect scratch for that itch. Unison League is available from the App Store and Google Play.
