Tennis Champs Returns guide - How to rise through the ranks

Tennis Champs Returns is a complete revitalisation of the Amiga classic that brings the magic of the original to mobile devices.
Though it may look simple on the surface, becoming number one is no easy feat. Never fear though, for 148Apps is here to coach you. Practise makes perfect
Tennis Champs Returns uses a fairly unique control scheme, and therefore, I would highly suggest you to not only go through the tutorials, but replay them a few times until you are absolutely confident you are ready to take on the career mode; competing in events requires coins, so be prepared!
The basicsFirst off, pay attention to your opponent’s serve. A white indicator will show roughly where the ball will land and you should adjust your position accordingly to avoid getting aced.
Now, onto the rallies. While your character automatically moves towards the ball upon pressing a shot button, this only works when you’re sufficiently close so you should always be moving back towards the middle and anticipating your opponent’s shots.
Hitting the sweet spotPay attention to the power meter to pay attention, as getting the two bars to meet in the middle will result in a perfect strike.
This is incredibly tricky to pull off, so focus on nailing the basics first before trying this advanced level move.
Outside the matches, you can customise your character as well as develop their proficiency by spending skill points. The sheer number of options available may seem overwhelming, but I would recommend enhancing the aspects of your playstyle that you rely on most.
As a more general rule, the movement skills are by far the most important, as they benefit everyone regardless of playstyle.
Varying your shotsOnce you become accustomed to the controls, you can start to make use of the game’s more advanced shots - like the blue button.
Understanding the different shots will help you exploit your opponent during certain circumstances. For example, lobbing the ball is extremely effective when your opponent moves up close to the net.
