Tips and tricks to get a higher score in Tank.io

Tank.io is - you guessed it! - another multiplayer arena battler like Agar.io and Slither.io. It does differentiate itself by putting you in a tiny tank though, so it's not exactly the same.

To help you get that all-important high score, we've got a few tips and tricks for you. Start conservatively

When you're just a tiny little tank, you can't really do much against other players. Don't try to pick fights. You'll likely lose.

Instead, you should try to take down the random geometric objects floating around on the map to earn some experience. If you see any tanks early on, just run.

Upgrade guns first

Upgrade your guns before anything else as that will force people to back off, since you can delete them a lot faster.

Upgrading guns also allows you to take down the geometric objects floating around the map faster, which will, in turn, help you level up faster.

Spread gun is king

You can modify your turret when you hit level 10, and then again at 25.

For your first upgrade, we recommend getting the twin front-facing cannons since you'll then dish out twice the firepower. Then, for the second, we recommend the spread gun because it's incredibly hard for opponents to dodge your shots while strafing around them.

Go on the hunt

If you survive long enough to get the spread gun, you'll likely be around the top of the leaderboard. From here, you should be capable of hunting anyone else on that same leaderboard.

Once you've taken out enough of these players, you'll be the top player, and the easiest way to keep it that way is to wander the map destroying every tank you see, especially if they're just below you on the leaderboard.

If you just hang out in one spot, it's always possible that some other tank could be grinding out enough experience to challenge you. Don't let that happen.
