Squareface review

Squareface actually feels more like a console game than a mobile one.

It's powered by the Unreal Engine. and delivers an engaging tale that features a protagonist with, well, a square face. He's also made out of paper.

Van Cubo's intriguing and surrealistic game is an excellent and engaging third-person adventure perfect for anyone who's a fan of games like Tearaway, Katamari Damacy, or LittleBigPlanet.

Squareface throws you right into the action with very little fanfare. You're a fellow with a cube for a head and a penchant for beating up bad guys with a matchstick - at least in the beginning. That, and exploring a vast 3D world.

The world is detailed and gorgeous, with items to examine, nooks and crannies to explore, and plenty of reasons to look around the environment for new things to try.

You can tap buttons on remotes, items to take a closer look, and perform a myriad of other interactions while trying to figure out who you are and what, exactly, is going on.

Where the real fun lies is within clearing areas of enemies and figuring out where to head next. It never ceases to be fun.

Squareface just works. It's got excellent visuals, a great control scheme, and a fun combat system.

It's just so meaty, and I found myself immediately drawn into it.

If you want to play something a little more substantial than another clicker or endless runner, you might want to consider giving Squareface a try.

It's lengthy, great-looking, and should take you quite a while to complete it - if you want it to end that is.
