There’s something pleasantly soothing about solitaire games and Solitaire Chronicles does a pretty good job of demonstrating that. It’s the kind of game you can dip in and out of, which is fortunate as an energy system means you’re going to have to restrict yourself sometimes.
Taking you throughout time, sort of, you go through various levels trying to clear all the cards. Some levels mix things up, requiring you to pluck out certain cards rather than everything, but the key principle is roughly the same.
At times, your success is dictated a little too readily by luck and what cards you’re doled out, but it’s mostly still quite satisfying. Every now and then, you’ll unlock joker cards making it a touch easier to progress, and generally persevering helps out a lot. Do expect to be slowed down by that energy meter though.
Solitaire Chronicles won’t sway those with no interest in the genre, but for fans that have eked out all that the likes of Fairway Solitaire can offer, it’s pretty fun.
