Sling Kong is a silly name, right? That matches the theme of the game pretty well. You ‘sling’ a ball-shaped Kong in the air, snagging him onto a peg before doing the exact same thing over and over again. It’s incredibly simple and potentially coins the phrase ‘endless slinger’, but it’s pretty fun.

A lot of that is down to its simple controls working so well. You drag a finger back and flick upwards, propelling the ball in the air. Various obstacles are in your way, such as fire breathing areas, bumpers, and crushing blocks. You also can’t hang around on one peg for too long with blue ones eventually ticking and then vanishing, with red ones exploding much faster.

As you progress, you gain coins. Sling Kong is a little stingy with these but daily bonuses ensure you get a reasonably steady number over time. These are used to unlock new characters. They’re purely there for aesthetic reasons but it’s a nice way to encourage you to keep playing.

Sling Kong probably isn’t the kind of game you’re going to be playing for weeks on end, but as a passing distraction, it’s cute and briefly compelling.

Sling Kong

Sling Kong is a simple 'endless slinger' and quite fun.
