Building a snowman is a holiday pasttime that pretty much everyone enjoys and that's probably why A Good Snowman is Hard to Build works so well.
It builds upon a universally-loved winter activity that anyone can get in on, and infuses it with an addictive puzzle twist.
Oh, and there are hedge mazes. Everyone loves hedge mazes.
Do you want to build a snowman? All you're asked to do in this charming puzzler is build snowmen. There's a catch, though. You've got to use a specific amount of snow that's laid out in front of you. You need a large ball of snow, a medium one, and a smaller one for the head.
In many cases you've got to roll snowballs around to gather more snow and then assemble the snowman to complete a puzzle. In others you've got to start from scratch.
If you don't plan your movements or your steps, however, this can be nigh impossible to do.
You have to be behind the ball to push it, so you have to be really careful not to get it stuck on the sides of the map. It sounds like a chore, but it's actually quite addictive, and works very well with the touch control scheme.
You can swipe ahead to see your character's footprints as they relate to the game board and see where you'll end up as you draw a path. This way you're not flying blind.
It works very well for the device, especially since you can take back your previous steps and start over if necessary.
With several garden areas to open up within the maze and snowmen to build aplenty, there's charm oozing from A Good Snowman is Hard to Build.
