The Boy Giant

I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to children’s books on the iPhone and it takes a lot to WOW me. I’m thrilled to write about the newest book on our small list of favorites: “The Boy Giant”. It’s the story of a boy named Hujo who is born bigger than normal and continues to grow so large that he’s too big to hug. He’s asked by the President of America to go on an important mission and along the way he finds the love and happiness that he’s always wanted. The story is fun and original, and the illustrations are quirky and playful. True-to-theme, the book feels “super-sized” with a whopping 44 animated pages and a soundtrack with grandiose musical arrangements and fanciful sound effects. My son enjoys this book immensely, but I think I fancy it even more. There is something off-beat, silly, and sophisticated about this spirited book, and I can read or listen to it again and again without tiring of the engaging experience.
