The icy grip of winter invades Once Human and makes survival that much harder

Since its launch, Once Human has done pretty well for itself, and NetEase is looking to quickly capitalise on this early success with a massive update. The Way of Winter is stuff full of new things to experience, such as an extra survival mechanic, a giant new area, and the ability to befriend Deviations. 

As you might have noticed, it is getting bloody freezing lately. The same is happening in the north of Nalcott, as players adventuring there will need to tackle a new survival mechanic; Temperature. Factors such as location, time of day, and the weather itself will determine where the temperature will land. You can craft heat and cold gear to cope with the change, such as making thick clothes or making hot dishes. Items such as torches and Molotov cocktails will also affect your warmth. Fail to prepare, and you will find your movement restricted at first, all the way to falling ill, so plan ahead.

To help you survive further, you can build Termal Towers, allowing you the ability to control the temperature around you. This will increase your survivability and also speed up your production facilities and increase crop yield. Chaosweavers will try to attack their structures, but with Way of Winter increasing squad sizes, you can find the numbers to defend them.

With the new weather comes a whole new map to explore. The extreme temperatures have had quite the effect on Deviants and the machines, leading to new enemies such as the rime Frosts and Crucibles, and even a fearsome boss: The Secret Servitor. Interestingly though, some monsters can join you as an ally, which will be pretty cool to see.

To celebrate the update, you can sweep rewards from daily sign-up quests; with items such as the Strawberry Wool Hat, Buzzy Bee - Pumpkin Lantern, and Smiling Spong Vest up for grabs.
