Sky: Children of the Light collaborates with the Moomin franchise to bring a wonderful story to life

Even if you didn’t know the name, you have definitely seen a Moomin at some point. The white, rather simplistic-looking hippopotamus-adjacent fellows are both adorable and abundant. So popular are they, you will now be able to encounter them in Sky: Children of the Light until the end of the year.
Until December 29th, Sky is hosting the Season of Moomin, thanks to a partnership negotiated with King Features on behalf of Moomin Characters. This Season will bring with it double the amount of Fetch Quests as typical seasons, with Moomin-themed paraphernalia such as a plushie, ears and tail, and Ninny outfit - a rather unfortunate name if you are English. With both properties sharing a similar, warming vibe, it is no wonder they come together so well. The Moomin storyline will tackle the themes of trauma, healing, and self-acceptance, with the tale of The Invisible Child taking centre stage. It was first published in Tales from Moominvalley back in 1962 and its strong message resonates deeply even to this day.

Ninny will play a major role as we follow her as she faces her fears, overcomes obstacles, and eventually grows with confidence and wisdom. Her story will continue to unfold across the weeks, allowing players a chance to connect with the story, showcasing it in such a wonderful way.
You will take on the form of a butterfly and will act as a guide for Ninny, bringing her from the world she begins in, punctuated with monochrome colours, to one filled with vibrant colours as she grows from her experiences. It is a lovely way to showcase the journey and is pretty in keeping with Skys’ general mastery of atmosphere and presence.
Sky: Children of the Sky is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
