Real-life golf purveyors Topgolf is bringing its golfing expertise to mobile with the release of Shankstars. Despite being named after one of the more unenviable shots in golf, Shankstars is shaping up to be a fun, silly entry into the world of sports.

In order to progress through the increasingly tricky courses, players will need to assemble a team of uniquely equipped individuals, with each bringing their own skill sets to the game. These include a pirate with a stronger-than-average swing, a gravity-defying astronaut, or even a T-Rex skeleton. The skills of said dinosaur aren't immediately apparent, but you can’t deny a dino.

The game features both a single-player campaign and players can take their talents into the open world and compete against other real global players. Shanksters was designed to be accessible to all ages in terms of skills and appearance, who doesn’t love a pirate, so it is perfect for golf pros and the young novice.

When discussing the release, Topgolf CEO Arti Starrs said: “Shankstars is a perfect example of how we are focused on enabling more people to have fun and enjoy the game of golf in their own way.”

"Introducing innovative ways to modernize the game and connect communities through new ways to play is at the core of who we are as a brand."

Shankstars has only recently been released worldwide, however, they are already gearing up to get into the holiday spirit with an upcoming Halloween event. The Holiday Hackathon, as it is being dubbed, will be signalled when the amazingly named Count Whackula appears on the game's main menu, and that name should surely be reason enough to try the game.

Shankstars is available to download now from the App Store, however, it is unfortunately not available as of yet for Android, but will be coming soon.
