Gather your friends for a Woodcutting party in Old School Runescape

Jagex must have been acquired by some lumberjacks, as it's been a very heavy wood theme lately. Following the recent addition of the Fort Forinthry Grove in Runescape, it is now time for Old School Runescape to join the green theme thanks to the Forestry Expansion.
Speaking as a lover of gathering and crafting, it can be incredibly tedious when you are out at resource points, but the Forestry update is looking to curve this with the addition of social benefits! When two or more players are chopping the same tree, everyone will receive an XP bonus, so start setting up those Woodcutting parties. With this update comes some changes to the Woodcutting skill. Trees will now start their despawn timer after the first cut and regenerate if players stop cutting the tree before it is fully chopped. This will hopefully make it easier for large quantities of people to gather in the same place as there will be less competition for resources.

As you feel trees with a Foresty Kit, a special event will start, that you and anyone near can take part in, for some more social fun. Those who participate will be in with a chance to encounter Remote Banking Leprechauns, Rising Roots, Struggling Saplings and Flowering Trees, a nice little bonus to make levelling a little more interesting.
Now onto the best bit, the new outfit. You are able to craft log baskets to cut down on the going back-and-forth, but you can also get yourself a Lumberjack outfit for the full Paul Bunyan experience, for what is woodcutting without plaid? This all comes in step one of the Foresty update, with the second part coming in August and bringing new leaves, tea-brewing, and bonfires.
Old School Runescape is available now on the App Store and Google Play.
