Digimoncon officially announces Digimon Alysion with a minute-long trailer including best boy Gabumon

Digimoncon lifted the lid on the upcoming mobile TCG, and left everyone with the same burning question; why is it called Digimon Alysion? It feels like I am missing something really obviously. Sure, “Digimon Pocket” would have been a bit on the nose, but Alysion? We ask the important questions around here.
Name aside, let's focus on what we have; confirmation of a mobile Digimon TCG! And that’s pretty much the extent of what we got, Bandai didn’t show much. We know Alysion will be free to play - weird sentence - and that it will be available on iOS and Android.
The trailer we have is only a minute long but has a few interesting points. To start with, it introduces us to three characters. There’s Kanata Hondo, Valner Dragnogh, and your partner Digimon Gemmon, which is what you get if you apply static electricity to a Calumon. This seems to imply there will be a prominent storyline, which tracks with past Digimon products. They were always big on narrative.

Another thing is that it does look like the actual physical TCG, complete with its clever pendulum-like energy system I discussed the other day. The very short version; you could play your god card round one, but you’d give your opponent a ton of energy to play with on their turn. It also appears that hand size doesn’t exist here and that Digimon has evicted Hearthstone from their playing field.
We also got an appearance from Gabumon, and nothing else matters, Give me more Gabumon this instance. All in all, no great surprises, but a lot to be excited about. But please, Bandai, for the love of all that is holy, stay away from trading mechanics. Or do them better than Pokemon TCG Pocket did, my heart couldn’t bear it.
