Digimon TCG social media hints at a mobile version of the card game with details to follow at Digimoncon

I have said before that I prefer Digimon to Pokemon, and I will stand by that. Even my beloved Lucario and Eevee, I would take a Gabumon or a Gaomon over them without much thought. Imagine my excitement then, when it appears we might be getting a mobile version of the Digimon TCG.
All we have to go on is a 15-second clip released on TwiX, however, it does seem to say all it needs to. Renamon rocks up to a discarded phone goes through it as you would, and then the back of a Digimon TCG card appears on the screen. Really, what else can that mean?
Unfortunately, for me at least because I am extremely excited, we need to wait until Digimoncon, which is a gigantic whole one day away. The stream will take place on YouTube March 19th at 19:00 PST. Of course, as a mobile site, I shall avoid saying how much I want to learn more about the game that lets you ride a Garurumon. Think I snuck that through.

Despite certain stumbles, or flat-out running headfirst into a wall, Pokemon TCG Pocket is undeniably a behemoth, and the odds of this prospective Digimon TCG taking its crown are remarkably slim. But that doesn’t mean that it won’t carve out a niche on its own. Having played the physical TCG, it does have a few special features of its own.
The most obvious one is how it handles its energy, for want of another word. The Memory system for summoning and using cards acts almost like a pendulum of sorts. Say you have two energy but want to summon a ten energy card. You can, but you will give the difference to your opponent, so they will have eight plus whatever you are going to gain on top of that to mount a counter.
It is really a fun system that lets you play incredibly aggressively, with the associated risks. It might not topple Pokemon, but Digimon TCG on mobile would be incredibly welcome indeed.
