Detective Di is a point-and-click murder mystery set in Tang Dynasty-era China

Detective Di is a point-and-click murder mystery set in Tang Dynasty-era China. You'll take on the role of China's best-known investigator, Di Renjie, as he solves a series of grisly murders that will ultimately lead him on a collision course with the country's rulers and Imperial Court.
While all of this is going on, there's talk of a potential uprising against the first female empress of China, Wu Zetian, and it appears to be the case that the murders are directly tied to some dark political secrets.
It's all very intriguing, and if the reviews of its PC version are any indication, the final product more than lives up to its neat premise.
Gameplay revolves around exploration, making dialogue choices, solving puzzles, and recreating crime scenes to work out how each murder went down. It certainly helps that Detective Di is also very stylish, boasting a detailed pixel art presentation and an original, period-appropriate soundtrack.
If you're interested in learning about this particular period of Chinese history, the game is said to be deeply rooted in the culture of the time and full of historical references.
Unfortunately, it appears to have dropped onto the App Store with little fanfare, so I figured I'd put together this here news piece to spread the word on what looks to be a pretty interesting adventure. You'll find Detective Di available for iOS as a premium game priced at $4.99.
