Bring mobile gaming's most popular franchise into the real world with the latest Subway Surfers update

Subway Surfers is, of course, one of the world's biggest mobile games and franchises, with an ungodly number of fans, and now everyones creative itch can be scratched thanks to the game's first AR feature. It is time to bring one of the world's most popular virtual worlds into the real one.
Now, as incredibly fun as it would be to have the gameplay of Subway Surfers in AR, it would also probably be sadly quite dangerous and imitable, so Sybo has instead pivoted and made this feature into more of a creative tool for the community to tell their own stories as it were, which is a nice gift for such a social bunch, especially given how active they are on TikTok. When announcing the launch, Sybo CEO Mathias Gredal Nørvig said: “To date, #SubwaySurfers on TikTok has accumulated over 34 billion views, and nearly every video under that hashtag has been user-generated. We saw how much our community loved creating their own content, and we knew we wanted to provide them with an outlet for production within the game”
“Subway Studio puts the power of creativity and virality in our players’ hands, allowing them to interact, tell stories, and create content with their favourite characters in their homes, backyards, workplaces, you name it”.
Subway Studio will launch as part of the Fantasy Fest update, which will be live through July 16. Players will be able to pick from 40 of the existing Subway universes’ characters, but this will be expanded in future updates. Then simply aim your phone and bring your favourite Surfer into the real world.
Furthering this creative kick, Sybo is also launching a Subway Studio-themed TikTok filter for their 7.6 million followers. Fans will be able to bring the iconic character Jake into their daily lives and no doubt recreate the plethora of dance videos there are out there. At least it will give those story-reading videos a new backdrop at last.
Subway Surfers can be downloaded now from the App Store and Google Play.
