Niantic has announced an upcoming feature test for Monster Hunter Now that you can get involved in, and good lord, is it going to be a challenging one. It is set to take place April 26th and 27th, and will see you hunting down a single target in a short timeframe, one hundred times over.

The target in question is the Eight-Star Black Diablos, which is an incredibly vicious foe. As such, to take part in this feature test, you need to be at least HR 11. You should also make sure you sign up for your outbreak point ahead of time. Registrations are open now, so go to the main menu and press the outbreak menu button. You need to be within range of the outbreak point to do this.

Whilst you can just rock up and join one of these outbreaks at the time, there are some benefits to registering. First, you can see how many other hunters plan to attend each spot, which can help you decide if it's worth giving up some of your weekend. Second, only those who sign up will receive an exclusive hunter medal.

So, what is actually involved? Well, between 10:00 and 10:59, and then 15:00 and 15:59 on the 26th and 27th, Black Diablos will spawn from the outbreak point. You will need to engage in group hunts and, as a community, slay at least 100 of them in an hour. It is a daunting task, so hopefully the hunter community in your area is strong.

If you manage to complete this, you will earn quite a few rewards. These include 3 Black Diablos Tailcases, 3 Black Diablos Ridges, and 3 Black Diablos Marrows. Plus, you’ll probably make some new friends as you frantically stab every dragon in sight. Niantic wants to hear how you find the feature, so make sure to report to them on social media or on the community page.

Monster Hunter Now is available to download from the App Store and Google Play. Speaking of Niantic, the Pokémon Go Horizon event is ending tomorrow, so make sure you don’t miss out on that.
