It always feels like there’s a rift between people who play sports video games and people who play other video games, though I guess that doesn’t apply as well when you’re not talking about the big EA simulation-style sports titles. Those—as games—are generally not great, which I guess means they can only really endear themselves to people who are big fans of sports in real life.
That said, there’s a surprising amount of fun sports titles to enjoy that aren’t just trying to recreate what it is like to watch a real sports thing, and what’s even more surprising is that some of the best ones I’ve ever played are on the App Store.
