Duck Dynasty: Battle of the Beards Review

I have always wanted to grow a full beard. To maintain a thick and dense facial fluff in order for the world to see how butch I really am. The most I can muster is a polite, gentlemanly 'stache for Movember. Thankfully though, I can live vicariously through my 'Yuppie' counterpart in Duck Dynasty: Battle of the Beards, as he goes about becoming a fully-fledged Redneck. So I'll get all of the glory but none of the itchiness, basically. Which is great.

Players can customise their Yuppie's appearance and name before taking part in a series of Redneck tests. This involves playing through an array of mini-games, each one more absurd and more humorous than the last. From duck hunting, to beard-dying, to differentiating between cherries and poo pellets (don't want to make that mistake), everything about this game is well-presented and polished. From the wonderful animations to the sounds of buzzing swamps, steel guitars, and of course the mutterings of the hicks themselves, Duck Dynasty is a real treat to play.

It could use a few more mini-games, though. At the moment there are only 15 levels, and although the intensity level increases as time goes on it doesn't make up for the lack of content. There is a cool extra feature called Beard Talk, in which players can spend in-game currency on some life-affirming advice from members of the cast.

Despite the lack of content, Duck Dynasty is still hugely entertaining, and bound to give players a warm fuzzy feeling - whether it's because of how enjoyable this game is, or whether it's due to their mighty new beard. It's fun for all the family, so go ahead and take a quack at it (sorry).
