Your phone is about to get a lot more adorable as Chonky Town releases soon

It has been a sad old while since something incredibly adorable came along; Valhalla Survival had Skuld and her adorable fox in February, and there is something cute about tiny Tinkaton wielding a massive hammer. Regardless, there will soon be cuteness galore, as Enhydra Games announces Chonky Town is releasing shortly.

The Chonkys in question - yes, that is their literal canonical name - are a race of adorable and slightly chubby dragons. It's being developed by small Vienna-based indie developers Enhydra Games, following the origin of these rotund reptiles, Chonky - From Breakfast to Domination, back in 2022. 

The original game has you sending your Chonkys out to battle, and I do need to quickly praise one mechanic. It had a “Parenting Mode” for kids that let them play as a small Chubb when a grownup controlled the main character. It’s a genius way to spend time with the smaller humans. Anyway.

Chonky Town eschews the violence and instead tasks you with building a Chonky utopia from the ground up. You do this by breeding. The resultant child will have a combination of its parents' traits and might even be born with its own special one, so you will need to plan out your future residents carefully. 

Of course, with these adorable critters, you will want to interact with them, and you can! Pet, feed, and wash your Chonks as appropriate, and you will see their affection towards you grow. If you can bear to be apart from your adorable new buds, you can send them off on exploration missions, during which they might bring you back useful items.

Get enough items from their adventures, and you can expand your town with these resources, allowing you to house even more Chonks. There is a prospective release date for Chonky Town of April 20th but not storefronts as of yet, so you might want to keep an eye on the official website for future news.
