Cassandra's Journey HD Review

Cassandra’s Journey is one of those games that just matches the functionality of the iPad to a T. The combination of a heavily hidden object game with splashes of puzzles and acceptable story telling provides a fairly enjoyable experience. As a level based game, it’s easy to pick up CJ and enjoy it one level at a time, or sit down with an hour or two and crank the game out completely.

While not exactly a deep game, Cassandra’s Journey has just the right combination of graphics, game play, and music to dance the line between fun and repetitive. I’ve never been one to spend a lot of time with hidden objects, but the story elements combined with diverse puzzle offerings kept the game play fresh.

It’s obvious with quite a few iPad games I’ve played, that developers are still getting the system down. Cassandra’s Journey suffers from a few hiccups, the VERY occasional crash (it happened once and only once to me), and a sense that there is more to be utilized from the iPad that just wasn’t quite realized in this game.

I’ve played through Cassandra’s Journey in its entirety and my wife recently picked it up, and we both enjoyed our experience. Don’t expect anything earth shattering to come of Cassandra’s Journey, but if you’re looking for a solid hidden object game, with good graphics, a pretty acceptable storyline, and a splash of puzzler to keep it fresh, then you should check out Cassandra’s Journey.
