Bigfoot Hunter: A Camera Adventure Game review

There are a lot of hunting games on the App Store, and most of them are pretty fun. However, to play them, you have to - well, you have to shoot animals.

Not in real life of course, but even pegging a digital deer in its brain can be hard to do.

The Tap Lab has a solution for those of us who like the satisfaction of pointing and pulling a trigger, but don't necessarily want something to die at the end of a gun. Bigfoot Hunter: A Camera Adventure Game is all about shooting wildlife with a camera, not with a weapon.

Mind you, the animals still aren't crazy about having their pictures taken, but to heck with them, at least they're not winding up on a dinner plate.

Though Bigfoot Hunter plays quite a bit like Deer Hunter and similar game-hunting mobile titles, it doesn't take itself seriously for a second. The animals are exaggerated and cartoony, and try to foil your attempts at photography in weirdly human ways.

They duck behind trees, they tunnel underground, they dodge behind rocks, and they even throw pine cones at you to knock you off your shot. But if you persevere, you should get some great shots (and some pocket money for your troubles).

As the name suggests, you get occasional chances to "hunt and shoot" Bigfoot, too. Unsurprisingly, he moves quickly, so getting a focused shot of him is hard. If the hunt wears you down, you can always take a "selfie" with Bigfoot using your device's camera and some "stickers."

Bigfoot Hunter is as silly as a hunting game gets, but it's pretty funny and amusing to play.

The one significant complaint that might be lobbed at it would be its lack of calibration features (the camera is controlled with body movement and / or swiping the screen), but that shouldn't dampen your resolve to snap a shot of the Sasquatch himself.
