Here's everything you need to know about Alto's Odyssey for mobile

Alto's Odyssey is a really, really good game. If you don't believe me, you should definitely check out our review by clicking this link right here. It takes the ideas from the original Alto's Adventure, then subtly builds on them, creating something pretty damn special.
With that in mind, I thought it'd be a good idea to round up everything you need to know about this superb sequel in one handy post. In fact, in this handy post. So here's everything you need to know about Alto's Odyssey. Got your own questions? Chuck them in the comments below then. Word.
What is it?
The game sees you sliding down a never-ending desert hill on a snowboard. So I guess that makes it more of a sandboard. You're controlling Alto, the titular hero of the piece, and your aim is to get as far as possible. To do that you need to pull off tricks. Tap the screen and you'll jump. Hold your finger down and you'll perform a backflip. Landing backflips, and other tricks like chasm jumps, balloon bounces, and grinds, will speed you up.
There are challenges to complete here as well. You're given three at a time. Polish them off and you'll get another three to sink your teeth into. The coins you collect can be spent on upgrades and new boosts that you can pick up on your run.
Do I need to have played the original?
Nope, not at all. Although you probably should have done, because it's also ruddy brilliant. There's no story continuation here, and while this sequel does offer more of the same, there's no difficult combos or moves to try and remember. You're just tapping the screen.
What can I play it on?
If you want to play the game you'll need to have a device updated to iOS 10.0 or later. It'll run on the iPhone 5S and up, the iPad Air and up, and the iPad Mini 2 and up. You're not going to have to have the most up to date iOS device to play it in other words. However, there's bad news for any Android players. There's no word yet on if or when the game is going to land on the Google Play Store. However, the original game did eventually make it onto Android devices, so don't give up hope just yet.
How much does it cost?
The game will set you back $4.99. Now, that might sound like a lot, but there's an awful lot going on in the game. Yeah, you can pick it up for a few minutes every now and then, but there's always something new to do.
