AAA's TripTik Mobile App Wants to Be Your Travel Buddy

Going on a road trip soon? If so, you really ought to download AAA's newest app. "AAA TripTik Mobile" provides directions, local gas prices, and information on hotels, restaurants, and attractions. You can even look up nearby auto repair shops. Best of all, it's free...and certainly cheaper than more-robust GPS apps. Voice navigation is included...sort of. You have to tap a button or shake your iPhone for it to give you the next direction. Really, it's meant to provide you with directions, not to replace your GPS.

TripTik Mobile is AAA's third iPhone app. The others, AAA Roadside and AAA Discounts, allow you to get roadside assistance and discover nearby discounts, respectively. TripTik rounds out their offerings and is probably the most useful yet. While the default Maps application is good, TripTik provides plenty of extra information about the surrounding area; being able to scan nearby gas stations for prices is extremely useful, for example. All of AAA's current apps are free, so what are you waiting for? If you're going on a road trip soon, you might as well grab TripTik Mobile.
