Zenless Zone Zero opens entries for its next round of Beta Testers

Posted by Shaun Walton on March 18th, 2024

miHoYo, aka HoYoverse, has become such a big name in mobile gaming that it's hard to believe that arguably their flagship title, Genshin Impact, is only three and a half years old. Now, they continue the road to the next title in their world, with Zenless Zone Zero gearing up for another round of beta testing.

Zenless Zone Zero, as well as being a title I struggle to say without getting tongue-tied, is an urban fantasy ARPG, set in a world destroyed by a supernatural disaster called the Hollows. The remaining dregs of humanity create the city of New Eridu, and now you, a Proxy, rise to make your mark in this dark history.

Warframe welcomes the arrival of a new soldier and the return of a beloved community program

Posted by Shaun Walton on March 15th, 2024

As a Warframe player one of the best things about it launching on iOS, despite it being arguably the best way to play the game if you have a controller, is that I can now be paid to talk about it. To whit, we are gearing up to receive the first Warframe addition of the year on March 27th.

Our upcoming Warframe arrival goes by the name of Dante. Once an academic confidant of the Entrati family, Dante was relentless in their pursuit of knowledge. One day, they stumbled upon an artefact known only as The Book, and upon reading, found themselves infected with wrongtounged words, leading to their disappearance. That is, until today.

If you are looking to take on the challenge of a new puzzle adventure game, then mark your calendars for May 21st. As well as having a few TV shows and movies, Netflix will be hosting a new game from BAFTA-winning creator Henry Hoffman, called Paper Trail.

You will be able to pinch and fold the very fabric of the world itself as you try to guide Paige on her journey as she ventures from home for the first time.

Wage a war against the floor as SYBO release a new mode in Subway Surfers

Posted by Shaun Walton on March 11th, 2024

It often amazes me how SYBO managed to create the most downloaded mobile game of all time without ramming it down our throats, but then they go and whip out quality events for Subway Surfers and I completely understand. So, without further ado, a new mode awaits.

We all know the Floor is Lava from our childhood right - you can’t touch the ground and have to jump from chairs to couches to tables to stay away from the lava that is definitely there. The game either ends when you hit the floor and legally have to melt, or most likely when someone hurts themselves. Well, now you can enjoy this in Subway Surfers.

It has been cooking for six long years, but after a long time in development, HYBE IM and FLINT have announced that pre-registrations are now open for MMORPG ASTRA: Knights of Vega. There will also be a nice little gift for those who get a move on and sign up.

RuneScape unveils its biggest combat overhaul in ten years

Posted by Shaun Walton on March 4th, 2024

Out of all the developers out there, Jagex is one of those with the closest bond to their players, even when they missed the mark massive with the Hero Pass at the end of last year. And now, after a beta period, they are ready to release their community-collaborate Combat Updates to RuneScape.

It has been ten years since Jagex last released a rework of this size for RuneScapes battle systems, with Evolution of Combat bringing upgrades like a higher combat level, a rebalanced combat triangle, more engaging enemies, and most crucially of all the ability to dual wield. Here's hoping for the mystical tri-wield.

Kingdom: The Blood blows past one million pre-registrations within the month ahead of March 5th release

Posted by Shaun Walton on March 1st, 2024

Back on February 5th, YJM Games announced to the world that pre-orders had opened for their upcoming action RPG Kingdom: The Blood, based on the hit Netflix series. That was just under a month ago, and the response has been crazy, with over one million people signing up.

YJM Games has described Kingdom: The Blood as an action RPG that has taken the soulslike concept, and taken it to the Joseon Dynasty. Players will be contesting with zombies flying in from all directions in fast-paced combat, where the best course of action may be to flee. It’s an interesting-sounding game, but even so, the numbers are a little surprising.

Death Stranding iOS saves are as hard to detect as BTs

Posted by Campbell Bird on February 29th, 2024
+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad

This isn't a review of Death Stranding on iOS so much as it is an announcement that I will not be reviewing it. I posted some impressions earlier this month about the release where I mentioned my intent to finish it, but I just... can't. This is not from a lack of desire, to be clear. It's from this port being particularly awful in a crucial way: managing saves.

Every time I boot up Death Stranding on my iPad, I have no idea if it will actually load my most recent save. Sometimes after the 90+ second load time I am right where I left off. Sometimes, the game seemingly accidentally loads an old save and I just have to go into the system menu to reload to the more recent one. And at other times still, my most recent saves appear to have completely vanished.

Call of Duty Warzone Mobile finally gets a release date after year of anticipation

Posted by Shaun Walton on February 29th, 2024

I play a lot of games of all genres, and I can say with certainty I am the worst in the world at multiplayer shooters, but even I got into Call of Duty Warzone for a while, mostly as the designated bullet magnet. Soon, everyone can take the enticing gunplay on the go with the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile.

For the past year, Warzone Mobile has been in Limited Release, with the developers gathering feedback from players and squashing some pesky bugs, and now the global release is imminent. Set for March 21st, it will launch with two huge maps.
