It's safe to say that the app store isn't short of list making apps. If I had a dollar for every list making app I've ever tried, I'd be a very rich woman indeed. Use Your Handwriting GOLD offers something rather special though. The clue's in the name. Yes, it allows users to create their lists via writing the words on themselves.
Rather than having to rely upon the iOS popup keyboard, users simply write in their customary style. It takes a little bit of practice writing without the aid of a pen but it immediately feels so much more natural and faster than typing the words out.
The app is designed in a way to accomodate those who write largely with the iPhone display moving across as and when the user runs out of space. It's possible to set up 10 different lists in all, easily switched around whenever needed. Writing is as simple as ever with a whole wealth of options for users to adjust things just how they like. Nib flexibility can be adjusted for instance, affecting how the writing looks. Writing speed can also be adjusted and the app can be switched to left-handed mode. Most useful of all is the ability for notes to be automatically added to the clipboard, slowing down performance times but making it a great way of adding notes elsewhere quickly. Besides that neat trick, users can also always email, Facebook, MMS or create an image out of each list for future reference.
There's also the ability to set items as high priority so that they blink noticeably at the user, as well as the opposite being true with low priority tasks. It makes for a great way of consulting quickly what needs doing next. I've no doubt on the iPad, it would look even more impressive.
Use Your Handwriting GOLD is a great way of keeping lists organised, while being easily accessible for all users. The fact it's only currently $0.99 for an universal and useful list creation app makes it a no brainer for anyone keen to get their life and To Do lists organised.
