Description

Every time you truly connect with someone in conversation, your consciousness expands — your potential, your insight, your energy to attract what you want and to get things done.

So here’s an expansion tool for all of us: Conversation Starters: A Desire Map App. It has 134 profound questions designed to encourage meaningful conversations. Conversations with your own heart, your partner, your work team, your best friend or a group of friends — maybe, even with a stranger.

Ask the questions at your favorite cafe, gathered in your living room, at your next lunch meeting, on retreat, on your power walks, in your journal. Ask them on the phone, or in person, like you would with a book club, or a support group, or the person you most want to share your ideas, feelings, and opinions with.

Also included with the app is a collection of Desire Map audio clips - over 3 hours of sonic love, all for you. So, right now: Open the Conversation Starters App. Speak your truth. Listen more closely than you ever have. Discover your Core Desired Feelings (we call them CDFs for short) and do the most important thing of all: feel the way you want to feel.

Amazing tool to allow people to get right down to the heart of the matter

My husband answered questions. He hasn’t read The Desire Map. He doesn’t know about Core Desired Feelings. But, as he was watching TV I said, “Can I ask you a few questions?” And so our magical exchanged started. With each question that I asked him from the Conversation Starters app, he took his time and gave his true answer. His answers were a fun and great insight for both of us. I have to share a little of our exchange: Question: “Who would you love to get approval or recognition from and why?” His answer: “Emeril. I respect him and would love to get his approval.” (My husband’s a Chef). Question: "If you had an endless supply of money, what would you do?" His answer: "Watch television, because if my supply of money is endless, I would just like to watch television.” And then I asked him another question and stopped. After a minute he said, “Don’t you have any more questions for me?” Yea, this Conversation Starters is AMAZING and a great tool.

How absolutely lovely

I downloaded this app within what felt like mere moments after it landed. I spent the next few days opening it, flipping through, and closing it again waiting for just the right moment to use it. Then, last night, I realized ANY moment is the perfect moment. I opened it and asked my beloved a couple questions- expecting him to shrug me off- and I started getting fascinating responses. And before I knew it we were puzzling through some unique ideas and had forgotten all about the app. I have three friends who I will be catching up with in the upcoming month and I can't WAIT to spark some amazing conversations with them using this app. Go Team D!

Not interactive

Was really excited for the launch of this app. Maybe I got too wrapped up in all the hullabaloo and waiting to see it live but it really did not meet my expectations. Though beautiful in appearance, it really doesn't "do" anything. It's just a set of questions that you can swipe through. There is no way to record notes about your live conversations, no forum to communicate with other app users and ask each other questions, no profile or way to get to know other app users. The app does not interface with the user at all- at the bare minimum, I would have expected at least an option for a daily/weekly reminder to ask someone a conversation starter question and record the response, your feelings and insights about the response, etc. If the app was intended to just be a list of questions, even if visually presented in that beautiful "Danielle LaPorte way", I strongly feel book format would suffice-- particularly a journal type of book. Sorry to be the first to give it anything other than a perfect rating but I found it greatly lacking. Disappointing.
