Description

In the competetive, dog-eat-dog world of toddler finger painting, there are apps that train your child to expect sparkles, rainbows, and unicorns to fly from their fingertips -- and then there is Finngr: the modern, minimal painting program.

There's nothing clean about paint, folks, and some of the nicest aspects of your child's artistic endeavors are the unintentional, idiosyncratic marks they make using natural tools. Finngr provides the naturalistic elements needed to engage the synchrony of the universe.

Features:
• Brush - There's just one, the size varies according to your gesture.
• Colors - There are seven colors. Maybe eight, but that's it.
• Paper - You get a relatively fresh sheet of paper for each drawing.

Drawings are saved to the Photo Library (aka, your fridge door). From there you can email it, send it as a message, use as wallpaper, tweet it, print it, whatever.

* There is no "undo." Don't worry about making it perfect. Paint over it or start a new painting.
* There is no "eraser." That mark looks great, but if you insist: paint over it.
* There are no "stickers." Why are you putting stickers on your painting? Hey, go play a video game until you're ready to paint again.

Adults: Use Finngr for brainstorming, sketching, and general creative endeavors without getting bogged down in the details. Eschew the false security of "undo," embrace the erratic nature of the gesture, and dedicate your thoughts to the subject of your painting instead of the weird quirks of your painting app.

What’s New

Version 1.1

* New color: gray!
* Updated brush - no more glob at the beginning of a stroke.
* Smoother brush strokes.

A Clean and Creative Finger Drawing Option. Wonderful!

My toddler loves to draw, so I downloaded two completely different finger drawing apps to our iPad. The first has all sorts of animations, music, etc. and my daughter loved it, which made me happy. This one is the exact opposite, and my daughter loved it, too, but she also became more engrossed using this one, which made me happy on a deeper level.

This app is clean, clear, simple, and very open, so your own imagination guides your play. I also appreciate the fact that there are no tools to control the drawing, so you (or your child) adjust the brush strokes by learning to control your own hand. The palette may seem limited at first, but is bright and has a good range of colors - plenty for a kid to color with!

If you are looking for a good, basic finger drawing app to balance all those whiz-bang ones, or a drawing app that fosters your own creativity, this is a wonderful choice!

Finngr

We love this app. We like that the white is transluscent and that finger strokes vary with touch. It is intuitive. It feels more like you are truly painting Than any other app out there. Have fun!

Save Function Glitch on iPhone 4S

I have the Finngr Pro for iPad - works great love the results and the interface. But the iPhone version freezes on Save on my 4S. I have tried reinstalling and when I click on App Support I get an info screen and no contact info.

Sadly I am disappointed in this app, would love to work with the app on the iPhone.
Please provide true app support with a contact for suggestions and reporting app bugs.
