Description

★★★★★ Our Little Miss Muffet is #3 on the reader’s choice BEST KIDS APPS 2011 list, and available on the Mac App Store ★★★★★
“Aa Match Preschool Alphabet” is a premium Mac alphabet learning game for preschoolers. If your children love letters and the alphabet song, they will love this game.
The game consists of matching lower case letters to their capital letters. The letters announce their sound when revealed and there is also a fun animation and sound made when the match occurs.
Once all the matches are made you get treated to a sweet version of the alphabet song, that plays continuously until your preschoolers decide to replay the game, so they can sing along for as long as they like.
Special care is taken to make the game’s interface extremely simple and avoid adding options and menus that would catch your child’s attention and diminish the educational quality of the game.
The Game will open in full screen mode and hide all menus and the dock, so your child can only play the game and cannot exit it until you decide so. Both right click and left click will work the same within the game, so your child will not be frustrated by clicking on the wrong side of the mouse.
If you are learning English this is also a great way to learn correct English spelling. Aa match is made in the UK so expect a slight british accent.

The current version uses the American pronunciation of the letter Z. An update with the option of using the British version (Zed instead of Zee) will be available within 2 weeks, due to popular demand.

There are two versions of this game on the iOS App Store, an iPhone/iPod touch version and a HD iPad version (Universal).

Very good

The only thing I don’t like is that the Capital I (eye), is the same as the lower case l (el). Good for typing but maybe a bit confusing on the writing of the lettering. My 4 yr old is using this ap. and seems to like it so far. It is great that they speak the letters too, Is really helping him decipher the differences of capital to lower case letters. I work with him to help with why they are different so he understands better. I do recommend this ap because it does help.

Well-designed for youngsters

The game plays full-screen so young hands don't accidentally exit the program.

You can easily customize the number of matchines from 2 to 24 cards. The names of the letters are pronounced clearly, and the sung alphabet song at the end is a great reward.

Developer request: Change the letter I (capital 'i' or 'eye') and l (lowercase 'L' or 'ell') to be better distinguished.

Fabulous game!

My nearly 3 year old son LOVES this game! He really uses the audio cues to help him to match the uppercase and lowercase letters, but I'm hopeful that he will need them less with time. I look forward to trying out other apps from this creator.
